1. Controller
Controller: House Math, operator of https://house-math.com, with its principal place of business in Dallas County and Collin County, Texas, United States. Contact: privacy@house-math.com. We have not appointed an EU or UK Article 27 representative. If that becomes required, this Notice will be updated.
2. Categories of personal data
We process: (a) the address and location of a property you look up; (b) property characteristics and comparable-sale information assembled for a report; (c) facts you type; (d) the report itself; and (e) technical data (IP address, user agent, timestamps, paths). We do not process special-category data (GDPR Art. 9) to provide the Service. Further detail is in the Privacy Policy.
If you look up a property associated with another natural person, we process that address because you requested a report, not because we identified the occupant. You should not use the Service to obtain personal data about someone else for a purpose that is unlawful in your jurisdiction.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Providing a lookup and report — Art. 6(1)(b) (steps at your request prior to and in performance of a contract to supply the Service).
Security, abuse prevention, and reliability — Art. 6(1)(f) legitimate interests. Those interests are: keeping the Service available and secure; and preventing scraping and fraud. We have balanced those interests against your rights, given the limited data involved and the informational nature of the Service. You may object as set out in Section 6.
Legal compliance — Art. 6(1)(c).
We do not process personal data for direct marketing. We do not sell personal data.
4. Automated processing
The Service uses automated models to estimate a property’s current market value. That processing is about the property, not a decision producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning you as a person (Art. 22). We do not use an Estimate to grant or deny credit, insurance, employment, or housing. You should not treat an Estimate as such a decision.
5. International transfers
The Service is hosted in the United States. If you use it from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, personal data is transferred to the United States. Where required, we rely on: (a) an applicable adequacy decision; (b) Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission (and the UK international data transfer addendum, where applicable) with our processors; and/or (c) the transfer being necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request (Art. 49(1)(b)) — for example, producing a report you requested.
6. Data-subject rights
Subject to conditions and exceptions in the GDPR / UK GDPR, you have the right to: access; rectification; erasure; restriction of processing; data portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and not to be subject to Art. 22 decision-making (which, as explained above, we do not carry out about you). These rights are not absolute.
To exercise rights, email privacy@house-math.com with enough detail to locate the relevant processing (for example a report URL). We will respond within the statutory period unless the request is excessive or unfounded.
7. Retention
We keep reports while needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, or until a deletion request we can reasonably honor. We do not state a single calendar period because it depends on whether a link is still in use and on legal holds. See the Privacy Policy, Section 7.
8. Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the EEA Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or of an alleged infringement (GDPR Art. 77), or, in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first at privacy@house-math.com.
